Genealogy and Historic Photos

The Genealogy and Family History Centre of the Annapolis Heritage Society is located at the O'Dell Museum. Its primary emphasis is on Annapolis Royal and the old Townships which were adjacent to Annapolis Royal: Granville, Annapolis and Clements; along with the early Acadian settlements prior to 1755.

The Annapolis Heritage Society is a non-profit organization committed to the preservation, promotion and presentation of local heritage. Its mandate is to support its mission by:
  1. responsibly operating its museums and resource centres
  2. developing relevant programming
  3. continuing research, discovery and collection activities
  4. committing to the rehabilitation of buildings, through example or advocacy
  5. educating the broader community about local heritage and its benefits
  6. actively supporting relevant community and government aims which benefit heritage preservation.
  7. The Annapolis Heritage Society owns and operates two museums - the O'Dell House Museum and the Sinclair Inn Museum. It also manages North Hills Museum, on behalf of
  8. the Nova Scotia Museum. The Society operates its Genealogy Centre out of the O'Dell House Museum.
O'Dell House Museum is generally open 5 days a week from 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. Weekend openings are available during the summer.
