The Annapolis Royal Police Department has experienced many changes over the past several months with the retirement of Ross Campbell as the Chief of the Department on December 5, 2008. Sergeant Dale Miller suffered a work related injury on June 23, 2007 and remains off duty as a result of those injuries. A few officers have come and gone since 2007, some taking a position in Annapolis Royal as their first posting after graduating from the Atlantic Police Academy. They have now moved on to larger Departments in others areas. Those members are thankful for the training they received in Annapolis Royal.
In 2009 the Department launched another recruitment campaign and the last of three new officers was sworn in on April 1, 2009. Constable Joel Foster, a new graduate from the Atlantic Police Services, began employment with the Department on April 12, 2009. Corporal William Chase is the final new member to take oath. Corporal Chase is a former member of the Military Police, stationed in Oromocto, New Brunswick. Constable Nicole Campbell became a member in October 2008. Constables Campbell and Foster and Corporal Chase are all residents of New Brunswick who have settled into the Annapolis Royal area.

The department continues to be supported by our Auxiliary Police Officer Program. Both Auxiliary Constables are members of the community who volunteer their time to the police department.
The Department continues to operate as community-based police service and wants to assure all Town residents and business owners that the same service that you have become accustomed to is still available. We invite members of the public to drop by the police department at anytime to meet our new officers.
