Town Pool

Work towards our new outdoor swimming pool is progressing.  Currently, a contract is being established with the Project Manager and this will be followed by the creation of another contract with the pool developer.  Work on site is scheduled to begin in March 2007, with the majority to take place this summer.  The community Pool Team is actively preparing a fundraising campaign and community donations are being received at Town Hall.  Contact 532-7667 for more information

New Subdivision behind Fire Hall

Students from the Dalhousie School of Planning met with 20 members of the community on Saturday, February 3 to develop a vision for the land behind the Fire Hall which will soon be in the hands of a developer.  There was much discussion about the importance of preserving the heritage look and feel of the Town, attracting a diversity of people to the area, and “green” development.  The results of the students’ work will be posted to the Town website when it is received.  The development agreement process will also allow for more public input down the road. For more information please contact Joy Elliott oakhaven@ns.sympatico.ca.
