- The Council of the Town of Annapolis Royal has deemed the following activities to unreasonably disturb the peace and tranquility of the neighbourhood at any time where the sound resulting from such activity or activities is audible at point of reception:
- The operation of any public address system, television set, disc player, tape deck, phonograph, or radio in a manner such that the sound from the equipment being operated is audible beyond the bounds of the property or motor vehicle from which the noise is emitted.
- The operation of any mobile disc player, tape deck, phonograph, or radio in a manner such that the sound from the equipment being operated is audible beyond 30 metres from the device or apparatus.
- This Bylaw does not apply to public events that have been authorized in advance by Town staff.
- For unreasonably disturbing the peace and tranquility of the neighbourhood, a penalty of not less than $50.00 and not more than $500.00 will be imposed for each offense.
- This bylaw is effective the date of publishing.
Arrest Without Warrant
- A police officer or any law enforcement officer may arrest without warrant a person whom he finds committing an offence or has reason to believe has recently committed an offence against this Bylaw.
