To begin you will need clear plastic bags. In your clear plastic bag you can put all of the following:

| plastic bottles | rinsed, uncrushed, caps removed |
| glass bottles | rinsed, unbroken, caps removed |
| metal food and juice cans and lids | clean & dry |
| glass jars and metal covers | clean & dry |
| recyclable plastic containers | labelled 1,2,3,4,5,6 and 7 |
| styrofoam | labelled 6 |
| plastic bags, frozen vegetable, bread and shopping bags | labelled 2 and 4 |
| aluminum foil plates and trays (rinsed, not crushed) | clean |
In a separate clear plastic bag:

| newspapers and newsprint | dry |
| glossy and non-glossy flyers | dry |
| magazines, catalogues and phone books | dry |
| writing, typing and computer paper | dry |
| envelopes | windows removed; dry |
| paper egg cartons | dry |
| boxboard (cereal, tissue, detergent boxes, etc.) | cereal box liners removed; dry |
| paper towel and bathroom tissue tubes | dry |
| gable-top milk and juice cartons | dry |
| corrugated cardboard (If corrugated cardboard is too large for bag, then break box down and bundle to a size of 2 feet by 2 feet) | dry |
Notes:
redeemable beverage containers may be taken to the Lequille Envirodepot for cash, or they may be included in your recyclables if you do not wish to bother with redeeming them yourself.
there is a maximum of 4 bags of recyclables for curbside collection. In the case of a household and a business, you are allowed twice that, 8 bags of recyclables. Please use clear or blue bags intended for this purpose and please do not put out your recyclables in small grocery bags etc.
