The Town provides curbside collection on a biweekly basis for
residual garbage (green bags) which should only consist of items
that can't be composted, recycled or disposed of through other means.
Garbage is to be placed in regular size garbage (green) bags and tied
securely so that the bags don't come undone during transport. We have
a limit of 3 bags per household for green bag collection.
Residual waste (garbage) includes:
- disposable diapers
- personal hygiene products and waste
- frozen juice containers
- candy wrappers
- chip bags and tubes
- contaminated containers (such as motor oil containers)
- plastic wrap (wrappers)
- plastic bottle caps
- Tim Horton-type paper cups
- vacuum cleaner bags
- pet waste and kitty litter
- wooden and wax coated boxes
- used light bulbs
- toothpaste tubes
- cigarette butts and ashes
- empty paint cans and aerosols
- steel wool and soap pads
- broken glass and ceramics (wrapped for safety)
