Annapolis Visitor Centre and Tidal Power Generation Station

Please drop by our Visitor Information Center on the causeway at Annapolis Royal, (236 Prince Albert Road). We welcome the opportunity to share the events, attractions and history of the area with you, be it Annapolis Royal and surrounding area or the rest of beautiful Nova Scotia. Our staff will skillfully assist you in finding accommodations, dining or any other services you require, either locally or for another stage of your travels.

Our Visitor Information Center is on the site of the only Tidal Power Generating Station in North America. A few steps (or a short elevator ride) will take you into the fascinating world of the Bay of Fundy Tides, highest in the world. Our staff can explain the tides and the Generating Station, built in 1984, using the multimedia features and displays of the exhibit center.

When the tide schedule allows, we provide “Down Under Tours”. You can see the inner workings of the Generating Station and learn about the technologies, which make it all possible. We welcome tours and groups, and appreciate a call ahead so as to best serve you. Visitors wishing to participate in a Down Under Tour should be 19 years of age, (16 with signed parental consent). Group tours are a modest fee of $2 per person, and the Down Under Tour is $3 per person. Individuals just dropping in to visit us are on a donation as you wish basis.
